The Skilling Project
At the heart of Girl Power Ministries vision is the unquenchable passion to equip and empower the vulnerable persons holistically so as to strengthen homes and families. Girl Power Skilling Project was birthed out of this desire.
Girl Power recognizes that at the heart of marital conflict, strife and discord is poverty and the strain lack places on families. The Girl Power Skilling Project sought to address the economic inability of disadvantaged, vulnerable persons by offering free, quality training in vocational practical skills requiring a minimum investment to boost house hold income.
In the last three years, Girl Power has trained over 500 men, women and especially vulnerable children in juicing, soap making, baking, cookery and tailoring. At least 10 of the trainees now have UNBS certified businesses.
The Skilling Project adopted a fast-paced practical approach that upholds health and safety standards and develops every day use products that are easy to retail requiring a minimum investment ranging between USD 10 -20.
